A-100 DIY Kit #1

Der A-100 Do-it-yourself-Kit 1 ist eine Zusammenstellung von Komponenten, die den preiswerten Eigenbau eines Gehäuses für das A-100-System erlaubt:

  • Netzteil mit externem Trafo im Kunststoffgehäuse (15V Wechselspannungs-Ausgang)

  • externer Trafo aus Gründen der elektrischen Sicherheit, keine lebensgefährlichen Netzspannungen im Gehäuse

  • lineares Netzteil mit folgenden Ausgangsspannungen/strömen: +12V/max.1200 mA, -12V/max. 1200 mA

  • d.h. kein Schaltnetzteil mit damit verbundenen Problemen wie z.B. hochfrequente Störsignale

  • der externe Trafo erzeugt jedoch ein Magnetfeld und sollte in einiger Entfernung platziert werden (speziell bei Modulen, die gegenüber Magnetfeldern empfindlich sind wie z.B. das Federhall-Modul A-199)

  • 2 Busplatinen

  • 4 Profilschienen 84TE (ca. 427 mm) zur Montage der A-100-Module, incl. 8 Montageschrauben

  • ca. 160 Muttern M3 zum Einschieben in den entsprechenden Zug der Profilschienen (dadurch können die Module frei verschoben werden und auch Module anderer Hersteller mit abweichenden Positionen der Bohrungen können ohne Lücken eingesetzt werden)

  • Kabelmaterial zur Verbindung von Netzteil und Busplatinen

  • Maßskizzen zu Busplatinen und Netzteil (zum Bohren der passenden Löcher)

  • Bauvorschlag für Holzgehäuse (Skizze + Liste der benötigten Holzplatten)

  • zusätzliches Montagematerial wie etwa Schrauben, Muttern oder Abstandsbolzen (für Busplatinen, Netzteil, Gewindeschienen etc.) ist nicht enthalten, da hier je nach Typ des Gehäuses unterschiedliche Teile erforderlich sind

  • Zum Betrieb wird wird ein externer Trafo mit 14-18V Wechselspannung und dem doppelten Wert des gewünschten Stroms benötigt, maximal sind 2x1200mA = 2,4A möglich, es ist aber auch kleinere Stromabgabe möglich, bei einem Trafo mit 1A~ wären dies beispielsweise 500mA

  • das Netzteil liefert keine +5V, falls zum Betrieb von Modulen auch +5V benötigt werden, kann z.B. der 5V-Adapter A-100AD5 verwendet werden. Details bei A-100 Zubehör. 

  • Folgende Varianten sind lieferbar:

    • Komplettes Kit incl. Trafo (15V AC / 2500 mA Ausgangsstrom, Version für 230V oder 115V lieferbar, bitte Spannung bei Bestellung angeben) 

    • Komplettes Kit ohne Trafo

    • nur Netzteilplatine ohne Trafo (A-100DIY PSU)

    • Trafo einzeln (primär 230V AC und Netzkabel mit Eurostecker, oder 115V AC und Netzkabel mit US-Stecker, eingebauter Netzschalter, sekundär 16V/2500mA über Kabel mit Kleinspannungsstecker 2,1/5,5 mm Innen/Außen-Durchmesser)

    • zusätzlicher Profilschienen-Satz (2 eloxierte Aluminium-Profilschinen, ca. 427 mm lang, mit Montageschrauben, zur Erweiterung des um eine weitere Reihe)

    • zusätzliche Busplatine (zur Erweiterung des um eine weitere Reihe)

The A-100 DIY kit #1 is a combination of components that allows the inexpensive do-it-yourself construction of a case for the A-100:

  • power supply with external transformer in plastic housing (15V AC output)

  • external transformer because of safety reasons, no dangerous voltages accessible inside the case

  • linear power supply with these output voltages and currents: +12V / max 1200 mA,  -12V / max. 1200 mA

  • no switching power supply which may cause problems like high frequency noise

  • the external transformer generates a magnetic field and should be located in some distance (especially when modules are installed which are sensitive to magnetic fields like the spring reverb module A-199)

  • 2 bus boards

  • four 84 HP front rails (~ 427 mm length) for mounting of the modules, incl. 8 mounting screws

  • about 160 M3 nuts which have to be inserted into the front rails (as the nuts can be slided to any position even modules of other manufacturer with different position of the mounting holes can be assembled without gaps)

  • cable for connections between power supply and bus boards

  • sketches with measures (for drilling the holes at the right positions for PSU and bus board mounting)

  • building suggestion for wooden case (sketch + list of all required wooden case parts)

  • additional installation material like screws, nuts or distant bolts (e.g. for bus boards, power supply board, rails) is not included as these parts depend upon the type of case built by the customer

  • to operate the kit an external transformer with 14-18V/2.4A AC is required, the current of the transformer has to be twice the value of the +/-12V DC current, the max. value is 2.4A (corresponding to 1200mA for +/-12V DC), even smaller current output is possible; the current output of the power supply is half the current of the external transformer as the currents for both voltages +/-12V are required (if e.g. the transformer outputs max. 1000mA the max. power supply current is 500mA for +/-12V)

  • the power supply does not generate +5V, if +5V are required (e.g. for some modules from other manufacturers) the +5V adapter A-100AD5 may be used. For details please refer to A-100 accessories 

  • These versions are availabe:

    • complete kit with transformer (15V AC / 2500 mA, version for 230V or 115V version available, please specify the required voltage when you order)

    • complete kit without transformer

    • A-100 DIY PSU power supply board only (without transformer)

    • transformer only (15V AC / 2500 mA, 230V version with European main plug or 115V version with US mains plug available, built-in mains switch, AC output via small voltage connector with 2.1/5.5 mm inner/outer diameter)
      Transformers for other mains voltages or other mains plug types are not available from Doepfer ! To operate the kit an external transformer with 14-16V/2.5A AC is required, please ask the Doepfer representative in your country if they have a transformer available that is suitable for the mains voltage and mains plug in your country. A suitable transformer for the US market is manufactured by Triad Magnetics and has the product name WAU16-2400 (16V AC / 2.4A) or by Jameco. They are available from electronic shops like Mouser, Digikey, Newark, Farnell and others or Triad/Jameco directly.

    • additional profile set (two anodized aluminium mounting profiles (front rails), ~ 427 mm long, incl. mounting screws, to expand the kit by another row)

    • additional bus board (to expand the kit by another row)
